Diatomaceous Earth is an organic silica sedimentary rock composed by seaweed fossilized residues. Diatomaceous earth is today used in a large number of areas.

Diatomaceous Earth is extracted and crushed until a powder is obtained; It contains a percentage of silicium, calcium, sodium, magnesium, iron and others mineral traces like titanium, boron, manganese and copper. Diatomaceous earth is used as natural inseticide for pests control and for various treatment infestations.

Diatomaceous Earth is dangerous for insects thanks to its abrasive property. It cuts the protective cover of insects and once penetrated it hurts their internal parts resulting in their death. That's why is highly unlikely that insects could develop resistance to Diatomaceous Earthbecause this natural inseticide control insects for its physical property.

Also, thanks to its mode of action, the effect of the diatomaceous earth has a very long duration: it remains always active if it's not removed!

All these applications are possible thanks to its high percentage of silicium, to its hygroscopic capacity, and then, to its mechanic abrasive action.

Diatomaceous earth is absolutely harmless to animal and human health.
