Acarus belonging to the family of the Stigmeids predator of phytophagous mites . The body length is 0, $ 1 mm, with an ovoid shape, orange in color; the eggs are yellow.

  Controlled adversities:

  • Red spider mite (Tetranychus urticae)
  • Euriofidi

This species predominantly preys on the red spider, but its action is not able to control the phyllophage; however, it represents a good auxiliary in the biological struggle. It mainly feeds eggs and juvenile stages of Tetranichids and all the mobile forms of Eriophides.

It winters generally at the adult stage among the gems or in various shelters, and takes about two generations a year. This mite is commonly found on fruit trees in particular on the apple tree.

  • Euriofidi 

Sverna generalmente allo stadio di adulto fra le gemme o in vari ricoveri, e compie circa due generazioni all'anno. 


Questo acaro si trova comunemente su alberi da frutto in particolare sul melo.
