Small ladybug, about 2mm long, active predator of cotonose cochineals , belonging to the subfamily of the Scymninae. It is mainly used on vines .

The body of this ladybird is slightly pubescent, of a very dark brown color with four typical hazel colored spots. The larvae are covered by the typical white wax in irregular flakes that allows it to blend into its prey.
Nephus includens is a species typical of southern Europe and is able to predict the majority of species of cochineal cottons present in our habitats, also operating at low density of prey and with mild temperatures, in a period from April to November.
